this post is for every last one of you here at the little d blog right now. even if, by some chance, you don't know us and you've stumbled here by accident, in a comforting, sesame street sort of way, you're all our friends.
10. friends
it's true. little d brings us all together. when you're attending school at one of the two major universities in our town, when you get married to that special denton person or enjoy the single life, when you start working here, when you retire and enjoy golden years here, you're always surrounded by good people. good people like denton, and denton likes them right back.
*BRILLIANT SEGUE*
here's a few of those good dentonites' (some seasoned connoisseurs, some new arrivals) favorite things:
heather says little d is a plentiful source of good sushi:
"the best is also the cheapest. uncommon ground sushi safe (formerly a coffee shop, now specializing only in sushi) has a full bar, free miso with your order, a huge selection of rolls, and friday and saturday evenings bring lots of half-price specials. i recommend the basic california roll that comes with a great sweet white sauce, their lion king roll that's baked, and i love the love & love roll. other favorite sushi spots for me include i heart sushi (try the green tea ice cream!) & royal east asian cuisine."
jessica muses about culture shock:

jay likes the eats:
"denton county independent hamburger, mr. chopsticks, & fuzzy's - all top notch. also, little d is close enough to dallas, but not a part of it!"
jennifer is high class:
"That tea room on the square that ditched the antiques and went with a cool Christmas light theme. For $11 you get homemade muffins, homemade butters, a salad, sandwich or quiche, soup, fresh fruit and a dessert!"

kristen is all-american:
"--J & J's: Pizza on the Square
--Frosty's: Amazing Root beer! Fort Worth Dr. just south of I-35
--Sweetwater Grill: Good all American food. One block south of the square."

i say: i'm looking forward to bringing you reviews, features, pictures, and other denton discoveries as they happen. got something on your mind that you think should be on mine? use me as your guinea pig! tell me what you'd like to see and hear from this, the greatest of towns.
coming up: a trip to the sky theater planetarium, a review of frosty's, and more great denton photos from this girl.
Another one of my favorite things about Denton: the historical houses on Oak Street (I think that's the street?) I love drinving by them and picking out my favorites.
ReplyDeleteyes! ben and i have a dream home on oak street. it's on the left-hand side when you're driving by: a white two story house with a grand old porch. it was for sale by owner about a year ago, and we wished upon a star that someday we would own it... :)
